Several years ago, I found myself standing in my home realizing that, despite all the physical healing and inner work I had done, my space was still telling an old story. It reflected survival, accommodation, and getting through, but not who I was in the moment nor who I was becoming. I had changed, yet my environment had not caught up. That disconnect showed up in subtle ways: fatigue, indecision, and a quiet sense that I was still carrying more than was mine to hold. This new awareness led me to make adjustments in my home that included clearing clutter as well as making some feng shui adjustments to ensure that my home truly reflected where I was and what I desired to experience in life.
What I know to be true through my study and application of Interior AlignmentÒ Feng Shui is that intentional change doesn’t require force. It requires honesty and authentic reflection. I had been strong for a long time but not always aligned, as was evident when examining my home. The Sacred Traveler oracle card (Denise Linn), Stepping Into Power, speaks directly to this moment. It reminds us to reclaim our power not by doing more, but by standing in our own light and allowing our life to support us.
For me, that meant looking at my space through a new lens. I began asking questions, such as “What reflects who I am now?” and “What reflects what I desire to experience now and moving forward?” As I released objects tied to old roles, expectations, and identities, I felt something shift internally. Clearing space became an act of honoring myself and my life’s path. Each intentional choice reinforced the truth that I no longer needed to live my life based on old expectations and outdated beliefs.
Here are a few gentle, accessible ways to begin that process:
- Notice where you’ve been accommodating instead of honoring yourself. This often shows up in spaces filled with other people’s belongings, unfinished projects, or items kept out of guilt. Release those things that do not represent nor reflect your essence.
- Clear with compassion. Release what represents who you had to be, not who you are. Gratitude and release can coexist when you honor all parts of yourself and your life.
- Create one visible reminder of your strength. Choose something meaningful that anchors you in the knowing that you are supported by wisdom, grace, and inner power. This would be an object, color, or altar space that is personally meaningful for you.
- Align your space with your present season. Your home should reflect your capacity, your needs, and your becoming. Release any reflection of your past burdens because this old energy does not need to be reflected and recycled in your present life.
The outcome of intentional change is more than an orderly home. It is clarity, grounded confidence, and the quiet reassurance that you are enough exactly as you are. When your space aligns with your truth, reclaiming your power becomes natural. You are strong beyond measure. Let your environment affirm it.
